How do you control the functions of the mousepad on a laptop?

For some reason I can't use the scroll features on my mousepad anymore. ( u know when you slide your finger up and down the right edge of the mousepad) Does anyone know how to fix it? I have a Lenovo N100 (which is made by IBM) and windows xp.How do you control the functions of the mousepad on a laptop?
1.First of all,go to start.


2.Click RUN.


3.In the box,type ';control mouse';.


4.Do not include '; ';.(Remember)

go into the control panel and choose mouse and then look around in there for settings
