Any suggestions to control my dogs barking during the night? Just adopted a sweet 2 year old yellow lab.?

I've brought her in my bedroom and also left her downstairs in the house. Either way she runs from window to window barking at whatever noises she hears outside. It is too warm to close all windows. We've had many sleepless nights and I want her to start sleeping!

before bed try playing with her or talking her for a long walk to wear her out. she is also trying to get used to her new area and new sounds. good luck

Also, it may be that she is just trying to get used to her new home. Just be patient she will calm down. My labs (have 3) all calmed down around 2, 2 and a half. But we never trained them not to bark just in case!


Also, if you can, don't let her nap during the day, and walk her before bed to get all that energy out!!
It's hard when you bring home a new dog.. try the crate make sure you cover it also try leaving the Radio on.. If this does not work you will have to get harder on her.. Get up out of bed with a water bottle and squirt her in the face yell NOOOO you can also do that in the cage if she barks.. best of luck
Crate her and put a sheet over it. She will eventually go to sleep.
Try putting a muzzle on her! They can stop the barking.
take her to a dog trainer or better yet have a dog trainer come to your house. She needs training badly.
You could put her in a crate at night. One of my friends told me that they put their chocolate lab in a crate and hit the kennel with a broom everytime it barked and that worked for them. Good luck!
