What do birth control pills do for people with hormonal imbalances?

How many do you have to take and how do they work?

Do they get rid of the excessive testosterone in a girl's blood? What do birth control pills do for people with hormonal imbalances?
i have pcos and was taking yasmin. i don't know that the estrogen and progesteron lower the testosterone, but the do bring things back into balance. i took 1 pill every day at the same time and got my period every month just like a normal girl. (until i started the pill i went over a year with no period) i also lost 10 lbs on yasmin. i quit taking them last month and no period and i gained 6 lbs back, but it was the holidays. tell me your other symptoms..What do birth control pills do for people with hormonal imbalances?
I don't know all the medical terms, but I know that it just regulates your hormones and does cause the testosterone to empty out. It may cause weight gain, but it could make your boobs bigger too. You take one a day, for the rest of your life pretty much. Haha. They make you have lighter periods, and less - no cramps.
Yes they do get rid of excess of testosterone and they work by balancing out the estrogen levels and to help with a woman's menstrual cycle to keep it on track and give her clearer skin!
you take the whole package :)
