How do you control weeds by railroad tracks?

Ok, I live right next to an active Rail Road track. Trains zip past at about 50+MPH. Our garden sits right next to the track. We till each spring and apply preen, yet the weeds are out of control. Usually by June we give up and hope for the best. Any suggestions on how to make this more manageable?

Thank you.How do you control weeds by railroad tracks?
Move the garden. I've seen this before with a RR tracks and we tried landscaping material and pavers...to no avail did it work. How do you control weeds by railroad tracks?
Like Don said '; Learn how to use a hoe'; make sure you get the roots out too because it will grow again. Try putting stones around your garden( weeds on the outside of the rocks and garden is inside ). Vegetation killer

might kill your plants and is bad for your soil. if you have any other place for your garden move it. Carefully move your plant into a pot or container (whatever you have) and select an area. dig and transfer your plant into the hole you dug. Then put some soil and make sure it's stable. Why put a garden near train tracks? ( only if it's the only place for a garden though)
That train conductor was up again spreading weed seeds all over. Ops I shouldn't have said that, all the weed enthusiast might be coming your way.

Is there a place for you to transfer your garden on the yard away from the track? But then again, that's how gardener's do pulling weeds all summer long. You just have to change your attitude towards it. Make it in a positive way. Make it a fun job not a ';have to do work';. Make it as part your everyday relaxation after a tiring day at work. Make it as a family gathering and a time for a cold lemonade and a bbq time for the whole family. Don't treat it as a chore, treat it as a pass time. It's fun to be around your plants and flowers anyway. Have fun! It's what I do.
Learn to use a hoe. Most people chop and hack away with a hoe, and that's not right. Sharpen the edge to a sharp edge with a file, then gently slice the weeds off, holding the handle almost parallel to your body. Slice the weeds just under the surface. If you stay on this (after your tilling), it's easy to stay on top of this chore. If you let up, the weeds will be, as you've seen, relentless. I'm still trying to figure what part the train plays in all of this. :)
there is a vegetation killer that I believe is called pramitol. You spray it similarly to Round Up, this product however, will sterilize the soil for over a year in some cases. It has a retail label name of Perm-a-kill (or something similar)
My only suggestion is move your garden. Trains often carry chicken feed which are seeds, just drive down the road adjacent to the tracks and see if you dont see the same weed all over. So unless you like birds or have a ton of chickens I would recommend relocation.
Maybe try a landscape fabric, one that can let rain through. cut hole only where you put your plants.
Smoke them.
